Hi, I’m Michelle and I founded Baharat Jewels in early 2013. It’s the culmination of a lifetime of creativity for me. From crocheting to rubber stamping to cake decorating and beyond; you name it, I’ve probably dabbled in it. After a trip to Morocco, I became inspired by the vibrant colors, intricate design and exotic cultures of North Africa, the Middle East, Turkey and Southeast Asia. I was amazed by how much detail and beauty is incorporated into even the most basic and everyday objects; not to mention the skills needed to create them. I’ve been making jewelry for a long time - giving them as gifts and selling to friends, family and co-workers. People on the street often commented on the pieces I wore and asked where they could get them. That gave me the confidence to move ahead and offer my art to the world. So, here I am!
