The core is a shatter-resistant plastic (it will survive if you drop it, but try not to step on it or it will likely crack) and the yarn is real, 100% cotton variegated green/white yarn. I’ve fashioned miniature, handmade bamboo knitting needles and stuck them through the ornament so it looks like the yarn ball is waiting for it’s next project!
