Both the wood pen and wood pencil were cut from single blocks of maple and black walnut, cut and assembled into the checker harlequin pattern, then shaped and sanded up to 10k grit on a lathe. Each received 100% tung oil to bring out the grain before they were coated in 9 layers of durable high-gloss cyanoacrylate. The matching pen and pencil settings are bright chrome, and the clips feature a glossy black oval. The pen opens with a twist and writes in ballpoint black ink. The pencil uses a Paker style click mechanism for its .7mm lead. Ink and lead refills are available in any office supply store, ensuring this pen and pencil set will be used and loved for many years.
