The Simply Heaven Heirloom Baby Hat is unisex and reversible with a lacy look on one side and a rustic rib on the other. It is designed to sit flat when the hat is turned upside down. When your baby outgrows the hat, you will continue to hold your newborn memories close by turning it over to convert it into a decorative bowl, or by placing a small, battery-operated tea light inside to turn it into a nightlight — made so your child will grow with it and maybe pass it down to a grandchild.

Here’s something fun: A friend of mine told me the hat also fits a 15-inch fashion doll, such as an American Girl Doll. I tried it on mine, and yes, it does!

This hat fits a newborn (or preemie, if cuffed at the brim) and it may continue to fit up to 3 months, depending on baby’s head size. Average head circumference: 12-13 inches.

Care: Same as cotton. The yarn can absolutely be machine washed and dried in any temperature water — I’ve tested it. However, I recommend cold water washing and letting it air dry. This will keep the yarn looking its best for a longer time. Also, cotton can be prone to a little shrinkage in length, and a cold water wash with air dry will help keep shrinkage away.
