Teddy Bear stained glass purple on Handmade Artists’ Shop.

We have created a sweet teddy bear in purple stained glass. For some reason this glass said Teddy Bear so here he is in all his cuteness! This is a large suncatcher measuring approximately 10 1/2″ x 11″. The primary body sections are made with water glass that is finished with a rolling texture that lends movement to the piece. The heart the bear is holding out to give to someone special is made of very good art glass it is textured and iridescent with streaks of purple, cobalt blue, and rose within it. His feet (paws) are made of a multi-color art glass streaked with white, lighter purple and darker purple. His nose is lavender textured glass with tiny bubbles in it. The art glass we have used in this piece was selected especially for this piece. This is a warm piece that extends love and sweetness.

Made using the Tiffany method where each piece is hand cut, hand ground to fit the design, edge foiled with copper foil then soldered into the design. A patina is applied to the solder to darken it which in turn makes the glass simply standout! Finally we apply two coats of fine automotive wax to protect the finish and bring out the shine.
