This teapot is of a smaller size. It measures in at 4.5″ tall x 4 5/8″ x 4 5/8″. It was wheel thrown and assembled. It features a built in strainer for loose leaf tea. The drip design was drawn on with a pencil and then the bottom half of the design was masked off with latex and then the top half was sprayed with a volcanic ash glaze that turns a dark shiny blue in the kiln. Wax was then sprayed over the top half and the latex was peeled away to reveal the bare porcelain body upon which a glaze that turns a dry bright yellow was applied. Oriental teapots inspired the handle to be placed on the side. Please fill with warm water before adding boiling water or the teapot may stress and crack. It is dishwasher ( top rack) and microwave safe.
