Silver Beaded Kumihimo Necklace

This silver beaded kumihimo necklace is an eye catching, yet muted necklace. The beads are strung individually, and each anchored within the braid.

This beautiful silver necklace sits just below the collar bone, and is a great addition to any outfit; it can be dressed up and dressed down.

Kumihimo is the traditional Japanese art of braiding. The braids were originally used to tie together samurai’s armor, and was later used to tie the kimono’s obi. Kumihimo can be made on a marudai, or traditional stand. Today many people use a braiding disk.

This one of a kind braided necklace is made with silver colored glass seed beads, nylon thread, and silver colored chain. The beaded necklace is finished with a lobster claw clasp for ease of use.

The necklace measures 20.5 inches total, with the beaded kumihimo cord measuring approximately 12 inches.
