This actual real full size violin was rescued from becoming history. Brought back to a fabulous shabby chic life, primed, painted distressed, it is covered with some of my favorite vintage cut/nipped bone china Plate Rims and stained glass into a very beautiful mosaic; mosaic tiles from Rose Chintz, plate rims, Seltman Weiden plate, Limoges Plates, pastel tone colors of stained glass tiles, endless handmade clay Roses, porcelain roses in different colors and pearls, pearls, pearls. I did remove the actual strings, followed them along with pink pearl strings.
All china plates used here are in very shabby different shades. The rim of a flower chintz plate just cut and placed so, as to give the impression that it is still whole. I finished the violin with antique white grout to give it even more charm and a finished look. It is also sealed. The Body of the violin is painted in shabby distressed white, the fingerboard and scroll is painted the same color.
Light variations in pattern, lay out and color of the mosaic plate tiles are intentionally and proof and authenticity of a hand crafted item.
I only used already damaged china and porcelain plates to create this darling violin.
