In Judaism the holiday Hanukkah is the ‘Festival of Lights’, and a candle is lit for each of the 8 nights. In Hinduism, Diwali is also the ‘Festival of Lights’, that celebrates the victory of good over evil.

Its components also have a great meaning: Wax: Pure flesh or humanity; Wick: Soul; Light: love, divinity; Flame: Godhead; Fire: Obedience; Heat: Humility.
