Dazzling purple and white Brazilian faceted agates are more stunning in person. The purples are the deepest grape to the lightest amethyst with bands of white. Some of the stones are translucent while others are opaque. The faceted beads graduated in size for a symmetrical appearance. To compliment the brilliant purple agates I have artfully placed Swarvoski 5301 purple velvet Austrian crystal bicones between some of the stones. The purple velvet color is a perfect compliment with it’s deep, rich purple color. Small smooth silver heishi spacers are also used between the stones.
To finish off the necklace I used sterling silver wire guards to prevent wear on the wire. The closure is a beautifully detailed antique silver butterfly toggle produced by TierraCast. TierraCast is widely known for it’s quality and durability. Being produced in the United States they follow strict guidelines regarding the types of metal they use.
The necklace is 19 inches in length and will come with a complimentary jewelry pouch. BONUS: I will also include a matching pair of earrings on TierraCast silver ear wires as a gift to you.
Known for its natural beauty and banding, the history of agate shows how it was widely used throughout ancient societies for mystical healing ceremonies. Much of the Brazilian agate seen today has been found in volcanic cavities. It was formed when a mixture of saline water and gas bubbles formed within cooling lava, which explains the intricate patterns and unique designs on these stones.
