Greek Oregano is one of the most popular Oregano varieties. Use fresh or dried in sauces and soups – or any culinary creation! Oregano is a hardy perennial. It’s used widely in Mediterranean cookery – exceptionally good in tomato sauces (pizzas etc) vegetable dishes and used to flavor oil and vinegar. Hippocrates used oregano as an antiseptic, as well as a cure for stomach and respiratory ailments. It is still used today in Greece as a palliative for sore throat. Oregano is also high in antioxidant activity, due to a high content of phenolic acids and flavonoids.
