Imagine doing a job you love for over 30 years! Linda did just that as a teacher that, by the end of her career was actually teaching the children of some of her former students and loved every minute of it. Now retired, Linda is the happy wife of a self-employed farmer with 13 grandchildren and a first great grandchild on the way! In addition, she is part of the caregiving team to her 90 year old mother.
As a child, Linda describes herself as being a frustrated artist at heart who cried all through art class in elementary school! She eventually became afraid to even try to be creative as a result. It wasn’t until years later, after an accident that left her unable to walk for several months that she let that creative spirit free again. During that time she attempted her first jewelry in the form of elastic bracelets which she describes as “awful!” Not to be detoured, Linda hooked up with another friend who was also attempting to make jewelry and began teaching each other.
Over the years, Linda honed her skills and added more complicated designs to her line-up and LRS Jewelry was born. She has graduated from elastic to gemstones and Tibetan silver and her designs are both sophisticated and classy.
Are you ready to see what this feisty, almost, great grandmother is doing with her retirement years? Linda’s work can be seen on her facebook page anytime. You can contact her through facebook if, or should I say when, you see a handmade treasure that you can’t live without.
