This little creation started with a bit of help from Mother Nature. The base of the pendant is a thin shard of a maple that was struck by lightening. It was so amazing to see that I just had to use a little bit of it for something special. The top of this pendant has been painted a metallic gold and adorned with a tiny downy feather before being coated with a layer of crystal clear resin. It gives the pendant a wonderful shine and near liquid look. The back and sides have been coated with layers of glossy sealant as well (but I’d still recommend removing the necklace before prolonged exposure to water. ) The tree slice is a very substantial 4″ across, making it a true statement piece. It’s suspended on an 18″ silver-plated chain with a matching lobster clasp.
