Inspired by kimono fabric, this authentic Japanese Chiyogami-Yuzen paper is hand-silkscreened in several different small, family-run studios across Japan.

Up to six or seven different colors are used to make a single sheet of Chiyogami paper. Each color is applied separately, by hand and allowed to dry between applications, producing a high quality, fade resistant beautifully colored paper. Lesser paper that is made to mimic true Chiyogami uses only “offset printing” and is never up to the same brilliant standards as the real thing!

The paper is then applied to a brass pen tube, creating a practically seamlessly pattern. After the paper has been allowed to dry, it is cast in quality crystal-clear Alumilite resin. It is then put into a high pressure vessel creating a completely bubble free pen blank.

The hardware is plated in an ultra-durable titanium gold, to last generations. The elegant contours of the Virage set it apart from any other ballpoint pen, giving this pen a soft feel and beautiful appearance. The Virage features a unique roller clip that matches the shape of the pen components, a superior single twist mechanism and uses a premium Parker type refill, available at any office supply store.
