Do you look forward to the arrival of hummingbirds in your yard each summer? Now you can have one all year long with this one-of-a-kind fiber wall art of a threadwork hummingbird looking for nector amongst the flowers.
The threadwork on this art quilt is done on a painted background of organza attached to a piece of cotton fabric. The organza was melted in a few places to allow the background to show through.
The rich colors of green, red, purple, yellow and brown are used to create this stunning piece of art.
After the threadwork was completed the piece was stitched to a green Batik fabric that shows around the edges and a fiber yarn embellishment was also added. The piece has been cut into an irregular oblong shape. (see pictures for this detail)
Size: 10.5 inches at the widest part of the middle by 9 inches in length
A signed and dated artist label has been attached to the back of the art quilt.
The piece will hang from a wire hanger attached to the top front of the fiber art. (one nail would be required)
