Inscription across the bottom refers to a set of books written by the Father of Algorythms, L. Fibonacci, one of which contains an equation that calculates how long it would take for a hound to catch a hare.
Carved in basswood, colored with aniline dye, black walnut husk juice, and polished with carnauba wax.
