At Home Farm Herbery we use hawthorn leaf and flower in tea blends and to make infusions and extracts. It is cut and sifted and is leafy with gold and green flecks. Our Hawthorn Leaf and Flower, Dried is culinary, cosmetic, vegan, sugar free, chemical free, kosher, salt free.

Hawthorn was well known to the early North American settlers, who learned how to use the leaf, flower and fruit of the small tree. In spring, the young leaves were harvested as vegetables and the flowers used to make beverages and tonics. In winter, the berries provided sustenance and nutrition when food was scarce.

Once you get this we recommend you keep in a tightly-sealed container in a cool, dark cabinet or pantry.

For culinary use we make tea, alone or in combination with other herbs. Hawthorn leaf and flower may also be tinctured or encapsulated as a dietary supplement.

For cosmetic use you can infuse in water or alcohol for use in making topical skin washes and lotions.
