I made these earrings using A grade, faceted and twisted black agate drops. These earrings are elegant and substantial. Above the black agate I wire wrapped a black onyx rondelle. Both hang from substantial, Bali, basket weave, sterling silver, post style earrings. The earring settings alone measure 3/4″ (1.9 cm) long and 1/2″ (1.3 cm) wide. With the black agate drop they measure almost 2″ (5.1 cm) from the top of the ear wires to the bottom of the gemstone. Onyx is one of the birthstones for July.
