Handbound Journal Novela Rosa on Handmade Artists’ Shop.

This pretty hand bound 5.5″ x 8.5″ journal and slipcase are covered in a fanciful batik in shades of pink, purple, lemony yellow with touches of rust.

In color psychology, pink is a sign of hope. It is a positive color inspiring warm and comforting feelings, a sense that everything will be okay.

Inside I have bound 160 pages (front & back) of unlined of 80# drawing paper great for use with pencils, colored pencils, pen and ink, pastels, charcoal and most other dry media. They have been sewn with handwaxed variegated pink cotton thread with the exposed threads at the spine embellished with tiny pink glass beads. I’ve also built in a pink grosgrain ribbon bookmark the small pink, purple and yellow glass beads dangling at the end. This is the last book to be made with this fabric.
