Geronimo’s natural oil painting was inspired by a photograph by Alex Masi, that is part of the series entitled “Poonam’s Tale of Hope in Bhopal”. It shows the then 6-year-old Indian girl Poonam enjoying the cooling rain during the scorching summer in Bhopal, India. The Bhopal disaster of 1984 is recognized as the worst industrial disaster in human history and the people there still suffer the consequences today. The ground water is still polluted with chemicals and many children are born with deformities, including Poonam, who has a 6th toe on each foot.

Geronimo’s painting is super realistic. The pouring rain splashing onto the muddy ground is clearly visible. Now you can own this amazing work of art that expresses the joy to live and hope for better times to come.
