This is a fused heart trinket or jewelry box. A silver border with very lightly textured blue glass and inset fused pieces of glass make up this box. The lid is actually fused glass with an opaque blue heart, white wings and blue stripes of opaque glass make up this unique design. The sides and bottom of this box are made from very lightly textured transparent blue glass which match the border glass pieces in the lid. It is accented with a silver patina. I’ve made many of these in various colors, shapes and sizes and are practical enough to store anything, even your craft items. I’ve added the same silver colored lid chain (as shown) in order to keep the lid upright. Clear rubber feet are also attached to ensure no harm comes to this piece or your furniture.
Size is 5 x 5 x 2 inches.
I use the Tiffany copper foil method of stained glass, and then brightly polish the solder. Each piece of glass is cut by me. I cut all the pieces that make up the design of the fused lid and then fuse the glass pieces together in order to create the lid of this box. It’s an extra step to take; however, I like to “fuse” mediums together to see what happens. I think incorporating fused glass into my stained glass creations gives the pieces a little more depth and most importantly look totally groovy and all are 100% unique!
