This is a very colorful fused trinket or jewelry box. A black/pewter patina border with colorful clear glasses make up this box. The lid is actually multiple colored squares of transparent glass fused glasses within a clear glass that make up the center of this lid. I surrounded the fused piece with a border of various smooth colors of clear colored glasses to complete the lid. The same border colors of the lid make up the two tone sides of this box and slightly textured clear glass completes the bottom of this box. It is accented with a black/pewter patina. I’ve made many of these boxes in various colors, shapes and sizes and are practical enough to store anything, even your craft items. I’ve added the same black/pewter lid chain (as shown) in order to keep the lid upright. Clear rubber feet are also attached to ensure no harm comes to this piece or your furniture.
The dimensions of the box are 5 x 5 x 2.5 inches.
I use the Tiffany copper foil method of stained glass, and then brightly polish the solder. Each piece of glass is cut by me. I placed squares of clear colored glasses onto a clear piece of glass and then fused them into the lid of the glass in order to create the center piece lid of this box. It’s an extra step to take; however, I like to “fuse” mediums together to see what happens. I think incorporating fused glass into my stained glass creations gives the pieces a little more depth and most importantly look totally groovy!
