Contemporary Fused Stained Glass Box- Trinket Box – Jewelry Box – 3 Crosses – Keepsake Box

This is a fused cross trinket or jewelry box. An antique copper patina border with textured brown and opaque beige glass make up this box. The lid is actually fused glass with three brown crosses fused to the center of the beige opaque glass. A similar wispy beige glass make up the four corners of the box offset with the same textured brown glass that make up the sides and bottom of the box. It is accented with an antique copper patina because I wanted to try to give this box an ‘aged’ look, as though it has been around for many years. I’ve made many of these boxes in various colors, shapes and sizes and are practical enough to store anything, even your craft items. I’ve added the same antiqued copper lid chain (as shown) in order to keep the lid upright. Clear rubber feet are also attached to ensure no harm comes to this piece or your furniture.

The dimensions of the box are 5 x 5 x 2 inches.

I use the Tiffany copper foil method of stained glass, and then brightly polish the solder. Each piece of glass is cut by me. I molded the pieces of the crosses and then fused them into the lid of the glass in order to create the lid of this box. It’s an extra step to take; however, I like to “fuse” mediums together to see what happens. I think incorporating fused glass into my stained glass creations gives the pieces a little more depth and most importantly look totally groovy! CrossBox1
