This is a one-of-a-kind gourd nativity scene. The outside of the gourd nativity is painted with a light coat of gold paint to show brush strokes and to allow the dark markings of the gourd to lightly show through. A large opening cut in the “bowl” of the gourd holds the nativity scene. The nativity scene is a metal stable outline with ceramic figures inside.

The inside of the gourd is covered with a white fluffy Christmas tree skirting material then decorated with dried branches of tiny red and pink flower buds encircling the nativity scene. The gourd is finished with a gold and white nylon wire-edged ribbon made into a bow around the neck of the gourd.

The gourd is about 12 inches tall with the stem (the stem is about 1 inch) and the bowl is about 7 inches at its widest point.
