Charlotte Wedding Gown Label on Handmade Artists’ Shop

wedding gown labelThis listing is for two custom embroidered grosgrain ribbon labels. You choose either white or ivory grosgrain ribbon and we’ll embroider it with your initials and the date of your wedding. The ends of the ribbon are pinked (cut in a zig-zag) to avoid fraying. These are generally tucked under the label when you or your seamstress sews it into your dress.

This label was designed for the bride who prefers a more subtle and simple but very personalized wedding.

There are many uses for the second label including some headpieces, stoles, capes, reception and getaway dresses, scrap booking, or even weave it into your bouquet wrap.

This label will arrive in a lovely wedding gown gift box

You choose:

1. The format for your initials. You can either embroider the initials in the order:

first initial – FAMILY INITIAL – middle initial

(family initial will be larger and in the middle)

–OR–

first initial – middle initial – family initial

(all letters the same size).

Please specify your preference in the order of the letters and also let me know which letter is the family name initial.

2. Your lettering style choice,

“Simple” (block)

or

“Juliette” (traditional script)

or

“Zaph” (modern script)

3. Your thread color. We can match your wedding colors or a swatch, just contact us!

Please specify these details when you order.

PLEASE NOTE: You may choose the lettering styles for each label (same or different).

And Congratulations!

A Note About Sewing the Label into the Gown:

This wedding gown label comes with a “pinked” (zig-zagged) edge to prevent fraying. Most people tuck in these edges and apply it to the gown.

Once pinned in location, you can press the edge with your finger or a warm (not hot) iron before doing a whip stitch to sew it into place. In doing the stitching, take a little bite of the lining fabric of the dress (being careful not to catch the front dress fabric in the stitch) and then catch a bite of the label itself. Do this along the edge of the label on both sides. It does not take a lot of stitches to hold the label firmly in place.
