This is a stunningly beautiful handcrafted letter opener. The handle is shimmering Japanese camphor chosen for its gorgeous luster. It features a Celtic knot of pine centered in the camphor.

The marriage of these beautiful woods with the 24k gold plate setting featuring sculptured Celtic knots creates a statement piece suitable for the most tasteful desk.

The setting is treated with an epoxy coating to keep it looking great for years. Likewise, the wood received 9 layers of durable cyanoacrylate buffed and polished to a high gloss, which accentuates the flame of the camphor.

The wood was crafted by hand. The handle started as a single piece of camphor. Each knot ring was added in an 4-day process, then the piece was turned by hand on a lathe and sanded up to 10k grit for maximum shimmer and smoothness. It then received a thin coat of 100% pure tung oil to draw in the light visible in the shimmer. The outer coating application was done in another overnight process before buffing, polishing and mounting in the setting.
