This Bohemian bracelet was inspired by the fabulous Chan Luu multi-wrapped bracelets. I decided to add a twist to it by combining the leather with antique copper chain. I feel the combination of the natural leather with the manmade chain give this bracelet an interesting and artistic feel. Also, what is more lovely than mixing turquoise with the warmth of antique copper.
The closure of this double wrapped bracelet is a gorgeous heart filigree metal button from Germany. The finish is a dark antique copper. Look around the edge of the button in my close up photos and you can see the sweet the four hearts nestled within the swirling filigree design. The button closure was created using a silk wrapping technique with a coordinating thread of C-Lon in peacock blue. A quirky little knot on the end finishes it off.
This leather has been coated and heat sealed with the turquoise color. As with all natural products, over time there will be wear on the button closures themselves. However, this just continues to add to the rustic look of the bracelet.
The chain used is an antique copper chain. It is a double twisted link curb chain with rolo rounds inbetween. I selected this chain so that the rolos could be exposed as part of the design.
This type of bracelet is very hot right now and this particular bracelet is very unique. I think it is just great!
Thank you Audrey….I really like the mix of metal and leather together.
