Blue violet flower made as a glass mosaic on recycled wooden box using stained glass scrap. Everything here is recycled!

I made this blue mosaic violet flower design on a recycled wooden trinket box with stained glass scrap in shades of blue and purple with small pieces of orange in the center. Each glass piece is hand-cut and glued to an upcycled wooden box, grouted light brown to match wood color and sealed.

This adorable little box that I found in a yard sale is well-made lightweight (probably bamboo) wooden box that originally probably held Oriental tea bags (see last photo). I gave it a gentle sanding to clean it off and covered with light layers of clear lacquer to keep an original light wood showing. It has a unique feature to tie a ribbon — the slits on the bottom to thread the ribbon thru around the box.
