Blue iris glass mosaic on a refurbished wooden jewelry box.

I made this blue mosaic iris on a recycled wooden jewelry box with stained glass scrap. Each glass piece is hand-cut and glued to an upcycled jewelry box, grouted dark gray and sealed. A little glitter added before grout dried out.

The iris is made with a variety of blue, purple, green, and some iridescent blue that sparkles in the light; Amber glass fills the background; A touch of textured brown Van Gogh glass as a focal point.

The box is an upcycled well made wooden box that I cleaned up and gave a slight distressed wood appearance. The orange-brown box paint is left original.
