Here, at Home Farm Herbery, Arlene brews her teas and since she really likes Biscotti she wanted a tea that would go with them. Biscotti, also known as cantuccini, are Italian almond biscuits (cookies) that trace their origins to Roman times. After the fall of the Roman Empire in 455 C.E, the country was repeatedly overrun by the German Vandals and Visigoths (a.k.a Goths) and others. During the Renaissance, Biscotti re-emerged in Tuscany, thanks to a local baker who served them with the local sweet wine. Their dry, crunchy texture was deemed to be the perfect medium to soak up the wine.

Hand Blended calendula, red cornflower petals, anise, clove pieces, cranberry, orange, almond, cardamom, Rooibos and natural flavors containing nut oil (almond and hazelnut).

This tea has a subtle sweetness that will bring to mind hints of almond, butterscotch and apricot finished off with the Rooibos thus making it totally caffeine free. For those who like their tea sweet give it a dollop of honey.

The tea liquor is reddish orange but can be a bit darker depending on the brewing time and quantity used. Steep at 194°-212° for 3-7 minutes. Medium levels of antioxidants.
