Appliqued and Embroidered Custom Pillow from Children’s Art

DSCN7188

Most parents and grandparents have a trove of their children’s and grandchildren’s art work hidden in a box. When I found my beloved treasures getting tattered I knew something had to change, so I started turning them into pillows. They bring a smile to everyone who sees them, and make a unique gift.

Some times the pictures our children draw or paint are more than just a line drawing. This pillow was made from a drawing from “Gator”, a girl who used pastels to create this fabulous octopus and ocean scene. It made an awesome pillow!

Her drawing has been appliqued on a background of different colored fabrics which mimic the background she drew.

All my pillows are sewn by machine with hand embroidery and hand applique. Sometimes they have embellishments, like this one has a small button eye. Make sure you let me know if the pillow is for a small child, as I would change that to something toddler-safe. The pillows are made from cotton and cotton blend fabrics and have a poly pillow insert. The pillows have a zipper so the insert can be removed.

Contact me and I’ll let you know how to get your art to me. I’ll try to work closely with you so you will have a finished pillow that you’ll love as much as the original drawing and will be a keepsake to treasure.

This particular pillow is not for sale. You are purchasing a custom made pillow from a drawing that you send to me that is detailed. I also make pillows from simple line drawings for $10 less.

Please order this pillow if the drawing is more detailed than a simple line drawing.
