This unusual necklace is 18″ in total length when measured end to end. Made from .999 fine silver and genuine amethyst (not dyed), this piece is sure to be a conversation starter. Using 18 gauge fine silver wire each link is individually hand made by fusing the wire, hammering, and then tumble polishing to a sparkling shine. These links are known as a “modern fold-over”. They are a variation of an ancient Roman chain making technique that gives the look of a floating ball of silver inside each loop. Equally lovely is the cut and polished amethyst geode bead. This beautiful stone measures 30mm long (1.125 inches) by 15mm wide (.625 inches) and about 9mm deep (.3125 inches). Individual amethyst crystals sparkle around your neck when worn in the sunlight. The larger stone is enhanced by a strand of cut crystal amethyst beads. These beads are threaded on jewelers’ grade stainless steel beading wire. For safety sake this necklace uses a 13mm sterling silver lobster clasp.
