There is something so special about learning a craft from a grandmother.  Karen not only had a grandmother willing to sit down and teach her, but she had two, plus and aunt, and a crafty mother!  Lucky girl!

Karen has been creating since she was a little girl, beginning with clothes for her dolls and later school clothes for herself.  She joined 4H and learned even more, eventually showing at the State Fair.  She continued her journey through Home Economics at school where the class put on a tea party and fashion show to show off their amazing creations.

As if all this was not enough, Karen was sick at home and as any mother knows, eventually got bored with resting.  To combat the boredom, her mother took that down time to teach her to knit.  While she enjoyed it for a time, she laid down her needles for a number of years and only recently picked them up again…and the craft world is a better place for it!

After years of creating works for herself and her family as well as gifts for friends, Karen jumped in and began selling her work.  She is now the proud designer, creative powerhouse, promoter and all other positions of SewKlassic!  Her shop is filled with wonderful creations from her home studio.

Over the years, Karen has learned the skills of crocheting, tatting and embroidery; so you never know what might pop up in her shop.  She is always looking to explore new crafts such as spinning yarn, leatherwork, and beading; always enjoying how her hands can create beauty and bring joy to others.

This talented lady has the blessings of some wonderful ladies in her life who were willing to teach a child a craft and she is now sharing those gifts with the world.  You can find Karen on Artfire and you can follow her world through her blog as well as on Facebook.
