An ordinary and boring glass globe candle holder has been transformed into a stunning piece of functional art. I hand felted black merino wool onto several super thin pink and orange sunset toned silk hankies. Because the wool and silk were kept thin and delicate the candle holder makes a stunning luminary. The flame brings out a web of textures in the wool and silk, making for a truly unique candle holder.
Wool and silk are naturally flame resistant. You can use a candle of your choosing but I would suggest staying with a smaller candle that stands two or so inches from the top of the holder. A flameless candle would also be divine.
This globe has a 3.5 in opening, is about 15inches at the widest point around, and stands about 4 inches tall.
