The oxidisation on these circular silver drop earrings contrasts with the polished finish of the rims and wires, and gives them a really striking look.

They are lovely neat everyday earrings, very light and easy to wear, yet with the touch of glamour that dangle earrings bring. They will appeal to anyone who likes a minimalist design with clean lines.

Each earring is formed from a circle of sheet silver, which has been slightly domed. Handmade silver earring wires were soldered to the back of the circles.

The earrings were oxidised, until they turned a dark blue grey slate tone. I then polished the wires, and the backs and rims of the circles, so that they are shiny silver again, leaving the patina inside the domed area only.
