This ring is in the form of an oak leaf, which has curled around on itself to form a circle.
The leaf was cut from a sheet of silver, and the lines of veins were impressed onto the surface. The leaf was oxidised, then rubbed back, allowing the silver surface to show through, but leaving some areas of light oxidisation. The dark oxidised surface has also remained in the impressions, emphasising the veins of the leaf. This gives the piece a subtle patina, and a slightly antique feel.
