Pendants are custom made. This example shows a cabochon cut in our lapidary, then mounted in Sterling silver with fine silver serrated gallery wire to hold the stone in place. The bail is made from 18 gauge Sterling silver dead soft round wire and soldered to the top of the back of the setting. This cabochon was cut from a siltstone rough that my wife and I “mined” in Pigeon Forge, TN.
Made with a 22.5 carat natural ruby crystal from Franklin, NC, this cage was made with 20 gauge square half hard Sterling silver wire, with 23 gauge Sterling silver wire for wrapping. The bottom wrap was also soldered in place to enhance strength of the cage.
