Yellow Moss Agate Pendant on Handmade Artists’ Shop.

An outstanding piece of yellow moss agate, this is one gorgeous pendant.  The mustard yellow color of the “moss” suspended in clear agate is more unique than the more common green “moss”. Moss Agate does not contain organic materials rather it is formed when other minerals get inside the silica rich solution that makes up an agate.  This pendant had such a unique shape that it was a challenge to wire wrap.  I think I rose to the challenge though.  The stone was hand shaped and polished by a lapidary artist in Virginia using material from an unknown location although it could possibly be from the Prineville, Oregon, USA area where it is sometimes referred to as “Golden Plume Agate”.  It is not artificially enhanced so you are getting a purely natural gemstone.

Known as a “gardener’s stone”, moss agate is said to bring abundance and general prosperity.  Because it is an agate it is a protective stone with calming and soothing properties.
