Hand cut in our lapidary, this jadeite cabochon is 20 x 15 mm oval high dome. Jadeite is probably the toughest gemstone due to its crystalline structure. Jadeite is actually fibrous, so it does not have cleavage or crystal planes. Toughness is not hardness, Jadeite has a Moh’s rating of 6.5.
