This wrapped sea glass on a Kumhimo cord is a collaborative design with Jessica’s wrapped sea glass and Janis’ Kumihimo woven cord. Jessica collects sea glass on the beaches of Atlantic Canada. This piece of glass is a frosty white colour. Jessica cleaned it and then wrapped it in brass coloured wire. It hangs on the cord between two patterned wooden beads in rust and tan. The Kumihimo cord is handwoven on a small handloom using two shades of tan cotton thread and an iridescent thread. The ends of the cord are finished with handcrafted coil end caps and a hand made chain with a hook has been designed for fastening the necklace. Janis has made all of the wire findings with brass wire. The necklace is 16″ (42 cm) long and the sea glass pendant hangs down 2″ (5cm) from the cords. This is a lovely piece to wear for either dress-up or for a casual outing. Wouldn’t this make a perfect addition to you spring/summer wardrobe with brown, off-white or denim!
Thank you! We have just started putting together our sea glass pendants with Kumihimo cords and we like the effect. These wooden beads worked well with the card as well.
