About onebadbat
How did One Bad Bat come to be? The original thought was not to have a store or sell the things I make at all. Before I go in to how the shop came to be I think I should share a little about my self first. I just like Creating weather it be Jewelry or Art work. I have always liked things that are different and unusual, taking things apart seeing how they work and trying to put them back together again. So some times I guess that is the way art is to me and I think that is why I love it. It’s my way of opening up and showing what is in side of me what I am made of and how I work. We all see beauty in different ways and find meaning in many different things. My creations are the way I see beauty and perceive the world. My views are vast and cover many fields of thought. That gives me any different outlets for my art and my love of art. My Name is Meg or ( Bat girl ) :) I am a single mom in her 30’s. I’m originally from the suburbs of St.louis Missouri. I currently live in northern Colorado with my daughter and our 3 Fur baby's 2 spoiled dogs and a cat that thinks he’s a dog. Life has knocked me down many times but I always keep getting back up to try again. Some times it can take a wile before I get back up though. In my early teens I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder & spent many years in and out of treatment and fighting my self and the demons in my head. Even to this day I fight that battle! At 18 I foolishly got married to some one I think back now on that I did not even know. Quickly things turned south and I found my self in a situation I did not know how to get out of. A mentally, Emotionally & Physically abusive relation ship. Until one late night years after it all started. Wile family were in from out of town things turned around and I got my way out. Since then I have been unknowingly been fighting a second internal battle with my self. Recently finding out that because of what i dealt with in that relation ship I developed PTSD. That Even more so now than ever my love of art has become a form of therapy for the recovery process with both the inner battles I fight. I tell you these things about my self because I be leave that to some times to under stand the things a artist creates you need to know a little about them. So now I am sure you would like to know about the arts. Well when I was younger I loved seeing these beautiful images that people could create. Weather it be drawing, Painting, Photographs or any other form they used. So I started out drawing and was ok at it but it really was not my thing. When I got a camera in my hand though that was another story. I just loved trying to capture these perfect images of unique beauty I saw in things. As I got older and I had my Daughter that love grew. ( to the point my daughter hates when I get my camera out around her. lol) As that interest and love grew the cameras grew and the wanting to know more and improve on what I can do grew. To this day I am still teaching my self and learning/improving my skills. The jewelry side of my arts interest was there a little in elementary school. Making braided string friendship bracelets with my two best friends at the time and selling them to class mates. Then that passed till recently when I came across an idea for bullet earrings. I thought oh that is interesting I would love to make a pair for my self out of my own shells. So I did and I showed them off to my friends and family. They all loved them and thought they were so cool. That I ended up making several pairs for some of my friends and family. They all told me to try to sell them. The next thing I know I have an etsy shop with my best friend making and selling Jewelry. That has expanded from not only Bullet jewelry but to chainmaille & wire wrap along with selling some of my Photography. So that’s a little about me and how the shop came about but I bet you are still wondering how did you come up with the name.Well that is Kind of simple Remember I introduced my self as ( Bat Girl ) well that is my life long nic name that comes from my absolute love of bats. So I figured What is a name that would be fun unique and intriguing. Bats would fit that I think so I knew I needed that in there somewhere. Next what is it that was the main focus of our shop when we got started? The answer to that Bullet jewelry. So then the brainstorming came in to play. What else does our shop have now ok well lets see here we have an image of a Gun pointed at the viewer to make them think. We have chainmaille jewelry and our bullet jewelry. So how are guns and any thing gun related viewed at this time by people. They are viewed to be bad because of the bad people that use them and then the media talks about it. One well that came from it was 1 small idea and a love of unique and different that got it all started. So came the name “One Bad Bat” View all posts by onebadbat
