Drawstring Face Pouch

This bag was made as a thread painting experiment.  I had never used the technique before, and I am happy with the results. The face is made using raw edge applique. A few highlights and lowlights were added to the face using machine applique, along with the eyes and mouth. Then everything was thread painted. The hair was sewn on in an attempt to look like dreadlocks (a minor obsession of mine… on other people), but in the end i just looked like normal, chunky hair. The hair goes around the whole round bag, as if it was a head.
